Having always been interested in the arts, it wasn't until 2002 that I began to seriously develop my photography and quickly discovered my passion for creating beautiful images, particularly of food - fresh, raw and colourful, using only natural light and nothing inedible to enhance them.
Our relationship with food is so complex - it touches all of our senses evoking feelings of being loved, nurtured or comforted, sensual, joyful, decadent, nostalgic - the list is endless!
Taking an everyday food and trying to capture its natural beauty is now, for me, an obsession. I work with one subject at a time, sometimes for months, developing ideas - until the subject almost takes on a personality of its own. That's when it becomes exciting and when I get the best results.
When I begin I don't set out to capture anything specific - I simply work with the subject and trust that something will emerge naturally over time. It always surprises and delights me when it does!
